Exness became a popular trading broker with over 800.000 active traders across 180+ countries as they claim to offer "better than market conditions", and an "environment where traders can feel secure and empowered".

But what exactly do "better than market conditions" mean? Is Exness a good platform for beginner traders? Is Exness indeed a safe and regulated broker that you can trust or are there any signs of scam? Let’s find it out.

What is Exness?

The broker offers a wide range of CFDs on forex, commodities, indices, cryptocurrencies, metals, and energies, but you can't invest in stocks, ETFs, and mutual funds there.

Exness offers several unique or rare features like instant withdrawal, unlimited leverage, swap-free accounts for Islamic traders, negative balance protection and its own trading platform optimized for beginners, Exness Terminal.

Exness has a strong focus on emerging countries as most of their traders live in Asia, LATAM and South-Africa. To support the traders of these countries, the broker provides customer support in 15 languages (including Hindi, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese) and offers many local payment methods to them. • Exness offices - Cyprus, U.K., South Africa, British Virgin Islands, Seychelles, Curaçao, Kenya
  • Phone: Exness customer support is not accessible via phone, so the broker does not provide a customer care phone number.

Generally, we are not amazed by the customer support of Exness as we always received answers to our questions with significant delays (several days) and it's also weird that traders can't talk to a live person via phone.

Is Exness a good trading broker for beginners?

Yes, Exness is a very good trading broker for beginners and advanced traders because its strong regulatory compliance, diverse product offerings, competitive fees, low minimum deposit ($1) and simple trading platform ,Exness Terminal. Exness stands out as a reliable and trustworthy broker especially for traders in emerging countries and we haven't found any signs for being a scam. The broker even offers a swap-free account for Islamic traders which makes Exness halal. So we gave it a very high Trust Score of 9/10.

However, the educational resources of Exness could be more comprehensive and the customer support is also not the best in the industry we have seen so far.

Exness FAQ

In which countries is Exness available?

Exness is available in most countries globally, with a particularly strong presence in Asia, Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East. However, the platform is not available in North America (USA, Canada, Greenland), a big part of Europe (all EEA countries, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, etc.), and certain countries in Asia, Africa, and Latin America due to regulatory restrictions.

Below is a complete list of restricted countries, based on the official Exness website:

  • North America: USA and its territories, Canada, Greenland
  • Europe: All European Economic Area (EEA) countries, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Albania, Macedonia, Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and various French, Netherlands, Denmark, and British Overseas Territories
  • Asia: North Korea, South Korea, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore
  • Africa: Seychelles, Central African Republic, Mali, Sudan/South Sudan, Democratic Republic of Congo, Somalia, Mauritius, Rwanda
  • Middle East: Israel, Syria, Palestinian Territory, Iraq, Yemen, Iran, Afghanistan, Western Sahara
  • Latin and Central America: Uruguay, Nicaragua, Cuba, The Bahamas
  • Caribbean: Barbados, Saint Martin, Haiti, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Bonaire Sint Eustatius and Saba
  • Antarctica
  • Cook Islands

Is Exness legal and regulated in South Africa?

Yes, Exness is legal in South Africa as it is regulated by the the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) under the Financial Service Provider (FSP) number 51024.

Is Exness legal and regulated in India?

No, Exness is not legal in India, because it is not regulated by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). A SEBI registration is mandatory for all trading platforms operating in India, so not having one clearly means that the broker is not operating legally in the country.  As a result, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) listed Exness on its alert list of "unauthorized electronic trading platform (ETP) for forex transactions under the Electronic Trading Platforms (Reserve Bank) Directions, 2018.

This means, that Indian traders can't turn to Indian authorities like SEBI or the RBI in case they have any problems with Exness. However, Exness is a heavily regulated broker internationally, so it's very unlikely that Indian traders will face any issues that require regulatory intervention.

What leverage does Exness provide?

Exness provides unlimited leverage for most account types, including Standard, Pro, Zero, and Raw Spread accounts. Below is a detailed list of the different leverage levels Exness provides for different account balances:

  • 0 – 999 USD: Maximum leverage of 1:Unlimited
  • 0 – 4,999 USD: Maximum leverage of 1:2000
  • 5,000 – 29,999 USD: Maximum leverage of 1:1000
  • 30,000 USD or more: Maximum leverage of 1:500

Some instruments, such as cryptocurrencies, have fixed leverage.
